When creating content, sometimes it’s hard to find ways to make your content more appealing. Of course, a better quality camera, lighting, and other tools will help, but when beginning, those things can be expensive! In this article, our goal is to find cheap ways to improve the quality of your photos and make things a little more appealing to your fans.
To start, before taking a photo, take a look at your clothes and sheets. A cheap lint roller from Amazon will help remove any pet fur, loose hair, and dust that might show up in your pictures. It’s much easier to remove them before taking pictures than to spend hours editing pictures later on. If you don’t have a lint roller handy, just wrap some tape around your hand and do your best!
A sweater shaver will also be a great tool to keep on hand. It can help remove balls of lint and fuzz that builds up on clothing and blankets. This really helps with lace items that tend to quickly accumulate small rolls of string and lint. These can also be found on Amazon for a cheap price.
Small scissors also come in handy to remove loose strings. Most people have scissors laying around their house that they can use, but if you’re looking for something small to keep in a kit to use before taking photos, small pairs of scissors can be found at any hobby store.
Get yourself a tripod and ring light. I was able to find an entire kit that included a tripod, ring light, phone holder, bluetooth remote, a few clamps, and other small items for under thirty dollars at Walmart. Just keep your eyes peeled online and when you’re out shopping. There is no need to buy expensive equipment when getting started.
Take a look around your area. If there is any clutter, move it out of the way and clean it up. A few minutes spent vacuuming can also make the surroundings appear much nicer to your viewers. As most of us have a vacuum already, this doesn’t cost anything except a few minutes of your time.
Take a look at your fingers and toe nails. If you paint them, check for chipping or any that aren’t up to par. Touch them up!
If you’re on a bed or have a bed in the background, make sure your bed is made and your sheets are clean. A few throw pillows can really spruce up the scene and make it look more put together. Also, any hair or pet fur can be removed with the lint roller that was previously mentioned. This will also prevent these little buggers from getting on your clothes.
As your taking photos and video, take a look at the content you’re creating. By doing this, you won’t waste time taking photos that are out of focus, or framed incorrectly. If you have access to a computer, it may be easier to see the photos on a larger screen and pick up on anything you would like to fix before continuing.
