You’ve just spent countless hours editing new photos, watermarking your content, and researching when the best time to post is. Now, you’re ready to make your post, but can’t think of a title or caption to include with your fresh content. Don’t use something generic or a lame emoji, take a few minutes and really grab the attention of your audience. You only get once chance to make a first impression, make it count!
Take notice to where you’re posting your content, the interests of the people viewing it, what your content highlights, and other current events. Make your description meaningful. Is it December? If so, make your title contain something festive! Halloween? Make it spooky! Are you posting to an audience of nerds? Then, don’t mention sports… You get the idea!
When creating a title, there is no need to add extra words. This isn’t a 1,500 word term paper, it’s a title that needs to remain short, sweet, and attention grabbing. The title should be something that you can say easily in a conversation, not something that you’re trying to force together.
Don’t be scared to ask your audience questions. Again, if it’s Christmas time, ask them what they’re asking Santa for. If it’s Halloween, ask what their favorite candy is. Audience of nerds? Ask them what their favorite sports team is. (Just kidding!)
No matter what you take from this guide, always remember to remain yourself. Don’t try to build interaction with your fans by using subjects that you aren’t familiar with. Have fun, create interaction, and always know your targeted audience.
